Heat pumps get installed outside your home because they require airflow, and hence they are situated outside the home.
It is necessary to open the Pressure and Temperature Relief valve at least once every six months. If the pressure rises above the safe level, this PTR’s only function is to release it. The valve will stay in good shape and not malfunction if you open it every six months.
Heat pumps consume 60–75%* less energy than conventional electric hot water systems in New South Wales. Because it only needs energy for the compressor and fan, it is economical. For this reason, upgrading is the recommended course of action.
